Short films released to offer insight to Crieff in Scotland

An exciting series of short films commissioned to promote Crieff as one of Scotland's top tourist destinations are now available to view online.

Shot in and around Crieff by some of Scotland's top film-makers – including Crieff's own Iain Johnston (Johnston Media) – the high-quality footage showcases the area's outstanding natural beauty and impressive range of businesses. The short films are being used to promote the town to the short-stay tourism market in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the North-East of England.

The film project, along with the creation of the www.visitcrieff.scot website, is one of a number of exciting and successful projects being progressed by Crieff Succeeds BID (Business Improvement District). The films form part of a match-funded marketing campaign, with support from VisitScotland. They aim to promote and develop Crieff as the "destination of choice" for those seeking adrenaline-pumping adventure and good food.

Neil Combe, Manager of Crieff Succeeds BID, said: "These films are a key part of our vision to promote and develop Crieff. The town is as an attractive visitor destination and a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts. It has so much to offer and our ambitious online film project showcases the people, landscape, history and culture through its range of outdoor activities, food, drink, and local cuisine."

Crieff Succeeds BID (Business Improvement District) is about sustainable growth in Crieff based around a successful economy supporting a strengthening community. The BID seeks to support business success, a stronger tourism and events economy with a growing local retail offering.

Some of the tourist attractions to see in the Crieff area include:

  • Caithness Glass Visitor Centre
  • The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery
  • Innerpeffray Library (established c. 1680), Scotland’s oldest lending library
  • Drummond Castle & Gardens
