The Yan, one of the best places to eat in the Lake District, has two luxury glamping pods on its pretty site at the foot of the fells near Grasmere.
Both benefit from ‘room service’ delivery of its renowned comfort food and costing from just £47 per person per night – perfect for an alternative, affordable and indulgent Valentine’s escape.
Each pod is built for two and has a wood burning stove and underfloor heating to keep guests cosy, a fitted kitchen, a lounge area, Bluetooth music system, a dining table, a double bed and en suite bathroom.
Guests staying in the pods can enjoy delivery of The Yan’s mouth-watering breakfasts, dinners and even drinks, right to their pod door.
The Yan’s exceptional comfort food has fast gained a reputation as being among the best in the Lake District, with everything smoked, pickled, preserved, baked, cooked and often grown from scratch by Will Manley and his talented team, right down to the ketchup.
Menu options available for ‘room service’ delivery to the pods include: The Yan's now famous Shepherd's Pie, made with slowly braised Herdwick lamb from Grasmere, cheesy mashed potato, cured ham and garden peas, fresh vegetable and herb broth, with roasted butternut squash, butter beans, parsley and horseradish dumplings and a wedge of smoked crispy cabbage, and steak/frites featuring slow cooked Cumbrian beef brisket pan seared and topped with chimichurri butter, frites topped with truffle pecorino, pink peppercorn sauce, a field mushroom stuffed with blue cheese, red onion chutney and breadcrumbs and a watercress salad with pickled carrots.
Desserts, cocktails, beers and wine can also be delivered and a romantic Valentine’s Day breakfast in bed is possible too, as The Yan’s breakfast dishes can all be brought to the door and enjoyed in-pod.
A seven-night self-catering stay in February costs from £655 for two people, a three night self-catering stay costs from £340 for two people and at the time of writing, there is still availability over Valentine’s Day itself.
Breakfasts at The Yan cost from £3.95, while a main course at dinner costs from £15.95. There is no charge for room service delivery to the Pods.
