Mountaineering & Scrambling
For the experienced hillwalker, scrambling and mountaineering offers the obvious next step, bridging the gap between walking and climbing. Scrambling up to a familiar summit, via a route that is too steep and exposed for most people to even consider, calls for the right mix of careful judgement, delicate rope work and calm determination.

Indoor & Outdoor Climbing

Mountain Biking
Here in the United Kingdom we have many of the finest Mountain Bike routes that will rival ones found on the continent. We have the world class Single Track routes such as the Marin Trail in the Gwydyr Forest, Snowdonia, and the Great Glen Trail in the Scottish Highlands, to the Lakeland Loop in the beautiful Lake District.
Gateway Adventure are committed to make sure that our clients enjoy the mountains in a safe responsible way, allowing individuals to have even more fun. That is why were are able to offer a variety of recreational courses. Whether you want to improve your skills or simply ride in good company we are able to deliver exactly what you want. As part of our Mountain Bike Private Guiding Courses you may wish to bring your own bike, helmet & cycling equipment. If so please ensure that your bike is safe, roadworthy and well maintained to off road standards, if it isn’t Gateway Adventure can arrange suitable hire.
Other activities available on request include Archery, Bush craft, Caving, Raft Building and Kayak & Canoeing. Whatever activity you choose to take part in you’ll have a chance to develop your personal skills and gain confidence in your abilities.
