According to a recent survey by UK holiday park and holiday home sales operator, Away Resorts, the South of England is the most desirable place to purchase a holiday home, with almost half, 46%, planning to buy here this year.
The recent survey also asked Brits, who had the cash to buy a UK holiday home, what type of property they plan on purchasing.
Alternative homes took the top spot, with the majority, at 37%, looking to buy a caravan or lodge. 36% are looking for a house and 27% wanted a flat, showing more are looking into non-brick-and-mortar options.
Claire Hall, Creator of Tinboxtraveller, said: “It’s no surprise to me that mobile homes are such a popular type of holiday home. Modern caravans can be truly luxurious yet cost a fraction of buying bricks and mortar in a scenic location like the South Coast.
The extra benefit for families is having holiday park facilities on the doorstep of their home from home. My kids would spend their whole break in the park play areas and swimming pool if they had their way.”
59% Dream of a Coastal Home
55% went onto say location is key and the majority (59%) opted for a coastal holiday home.
