Music lovers are in for a treat during this year's Coastival festival in Scarborough with soul funk band Smoove & Turrell and jazz musician Dennis Rollins with the Mark Gordon Trio, to appear.
Organisers have lined up a full and varied programme of live music and DJ sets when the festival is held from 22nd to 24th February.
Headline act will be Smoove & Turrell, the popular Newcastle soul and funk band who will top the bill at an evening of music onCoastival Saturday at Scarborough Spa's Ocean Room from 7pm.
And popular jazz trombonist Dennis Rollins is set to make a guest appearance earlier the same day with Scarborough's own Mark Gordon Trio at Farrer's Bar.
Coastival director Kate Beard said: "Music is always central to Coastival and this year we have a great line-up of performers to suit all tastes across the three days."
The music kicks off on the Friday evening, when Coastival presents Clocking On at Farrer's Bar at the Spa from 5pm. This features local duo Stony, The Hard Times Orchestra, The Mile Roses and Yemi Bolatiwa.
Also on Friday, The Sound of Scarborough at the Spa Ocean Room from 7pm, will feature music from the best local bands, ahead of the release of an inaugural vinyl album of Scarborough musical talent.
Bridget Cousins will be performing harp recitals on Coastival Saturday at 11am at the library, 1pm at the market hall and 3pm at the Brunswick Centre.
Popular local group Raven will perform at Woodend Gallery at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
Then during Saturday afternoon, Coastival presents Generations at Farrer's from 12noon. This will feature Social Oven, Funky Choir andDennis Rollins putting in a guest performance with the Mark Gordon Trio.
The action switches to the Ocean Room from 7pm on Saturday, when Stone Penguin presents Time Machine, a mix of live and DJ music.Stone Penguin, a Scarborough-based DJ and VJ collective, will provide the DJ music and live acts will be Barry Gammon and the Midday Incident, Me & My Friends and topping the bill, Smoove & Turrell.
Coastival Sunday sees a day of choir music from 12noon to 4pm at the Old Parcels Office, featuring Funky Choir, Coastal Voices, Global Voices and A Song for Scarborough.
The festival ends with more music at Farrer's from 12noon to 7.30pm as Coastival presents Mods & Rockers. Catch performances fromRestless, The Sub-Gents and Electric Stars.
Elsewhere during Coastival there will be theatre, comedy, performance, art, open studios and installations, street theatre and family activities.
